Reunion 2026 – Copenhagen, August 26 to September 1

FoB Copenhagen Reunion 2026 – A Message from Bettina, Lizette and Pauline

We can now start looking forward to our next adventure – Copenhagen will be the setting for the next FoB reunion on August 26th to September 1st, 2026.

Copenhagen is a city where long history and contemporary life is present side by side. Traces of the past are part of everyday life — from the Round Tower rising above the old streets, to the daily march of the Royal Guard through the city. At the same time, Copenhagen is defined by cyclists crossing the bridges, people swimming in the harbour, stopping by neighbourhood bakeries, meeting in cafés, and enjoying long summer evenings by the water. Known for its food culture, from simple bakeries to internationally recognized restaurants, the city combines historic charm with modern life, including new neighbourhoods along the harbour that show how it continues to grow and renew itself.

Often ranked among the world’s most liveable cities, Copenhagen is valued less for spectacle than for how naturally daily life works here — a recognition of how safe, convenient, and pleasant the city is for everyday life.

Hotel for the Reunion

The designated hotel for the Copenhagen Reunion is the 25Hours Hotel Indre By.

We have negotiated a group rate of 2270 DKK (Danish Kroner) per night for a medium room (22-26 sqm) with a King, Queen or twin bed. This is a double occupancy rate that includes breakfast. The rate is 2100 DKK for a single person. Each of you must make your reservation and payment directly with the hotel.

The cancellation policy is a full refund if cancelled 1 month prior to arrival. After that date there will be a 100% charge for a cancellation or no show.

To reserve a room at the hotel for the reunion, you have to contact them by email at Events.indreby@25hours-hotels.com and provide the following details:

– Reference number 2608FRINBL (note that the letter after “FR” is “I” for India)
– Full name, check-in/check-out date, how many people, ages of children
– Credit card number and expiry date – used to guarantee booking; actual payment will take place on arrival/departure

If you have kids and you would like a larger room and/or an extra bed, the hotel can provide this at an extra charge, subject to availability.

If you would like suggestions for other hotels (e.g., less expensive), Bettina can provide some. Please contact her at bottenstein@icloud.com.

Reunion Preliminary Itinerary

We haven’t completely finished the itinerary – but a good part of it is ready.

Wednesday 26th of August
Arrival day. We will have a welcome reception in the evening somewhere close to our hotel, Hotel 25hours.

Thursday 27th of august
This will be the big Copenhagen sightseeing day that will give you a good idea of Copenhagen history – and our hotel is right in the middle of it all. We will start by walking up Rundetårn – the Round Tower, then we will walk to the canals and have a one-hour sightseeing by boat. Afterwards there will be a very short walk to the place we will have lunch – a place with lots of different kinds of street food, so everybody can chose what they prefer.
We will then be picked up by guide(s) who will take us on an architecture walk of Copenhagen.
After a full day – the evening is free to eat in smaller groups. We will of course give you suggestions for some good restaurants.

Friday 28th of August
We will be picked up by a bus that will drive us for around half an hour to Dyrehaven a beautiful forest or so-called Deer Park outside of town that is Danish UNESCO World Heritage.
Here we will do our Promenade Obligatoire for around an hour and end at a great place for lunch. Afterwards you can choose whether you want to walk a bit more, visit Bakken which is the world’s oldest amusement park and take a walk around there or go straight back to town by train approximately 20-25 minutes.
Evening – open.

Saturday 29th of August
We will again be picked up by bus to drive to the North of Zealand (Approx. 45 minutes). We are going to visit the beautiful and very famous Louisiana – museum of modern art. After watching the art and park for a couple of hours, the bus takes us to the seaside resort Hornbæk/Hornbaek where Carl Michaelsen very generously has invited us all to spend the afternoon at his house having a barbecue and maybe a swim in the sea. By 5 o’clock we will drive back to Copenhagen (approx. an hour).
Evening – open

Sunday 30th of August
The day is open – for whatever you want – shopping, museums, bike ride. We will work out suggestions and take groups to fx Design Museum Denmark, Rosenborg Castle etc.
In the evening, we will have our legendary soirée.
More info will follow.

Monday 31st of August
Another open day with suggestions.
We will meet late afternoon to go the famous amusement park Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen after a meal at a nice restaurant.

Tuesday 1st of September
After breakfast we will have a meeting where we can hopefully decide on where the next reunion will be. And then goodbye.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone here — whether you come with family or on your own, there will be something for everyone. Stay tuned for the registration to open in April and get ready for an unforgettable reunion in Copenhagen!
